How is continuity used in the TV series skins?

In this video from you tube continuity is not maintained throughout the scene as people or objects have been changed. However in some parts there are strong patches of maintaining continuity. Maintaining good continuity is beneficial as it does not confuse the viewer and keeps the scenes flowing.
When Toney enters the party his out fit is the same within the scene changes as when his character appears he’s still in the green jumper and jeans. However in some parts he has his top section off, which is an example of bad continuity, as it does not flow from one scene to the other. Another example of bad continuity is the character Chris as in every scene he has a different outfit although the outfits that he is wearing are the same in some scenes so although its not ideal its not to confusing for the viewer.
A good example of continuity is when we see Chris at the start he is wearing red glasses and when he appears in other scenes he is still wearing them which makes it not look abstract or confusing as he still is wearing them.
If continuity is to be maintained then the characters should still be in the same outfits unless they have taken them off in the scene, using them same personality of the characters being used in the scene, they can’t just swap personalities and making sure they speak the same and any props they are using are the same and haven’t magically disappeared.

An interesting and effective choice of material, using the lack of continuity in order to make continuity points. You could also have discussed the 180 degree rule, match on action and shot reverse shot, but this is a very thoughful piece nevertheless. =D
